FUNdamentals - This is how we learn the basic movement of our bodies.
We learn FUNdamentals through FUN and games. Learning lots of different skills and techniques will help us to become great swimmers and/or sports-stars when we are older!
Here are some of the skills we should try and practice:
- Balance (on land and in water) – Like standing on one leg.
- Co-ordination – Think of hop scotch or stepping stones.
- Speed – Walking or running/swimming fast or slow.
- Jumping – In many different ways (long jumps and star jumps - can you think of any more?)
- Throwing and catching – Try this with both hands.
- Kicking and striking – For example, kicking a ball with your foot or striking a tennis ball with a racket.
